CYCA Certified Instructors and those registered in the Knitting and Crochet Certified Instructors Programs offered at Chain Link 2000 gathered to hear Pat Martin of the Craft Yarn Council of America.
Members from two Internet e-mail lists for knitters, the Knitting Universe (KnitU) List and the Ample Knitters List, met in the Hospitality Suite in the evening for fun, companionship and conversation.
CGOA member Nancy Nehring presented a slide show of the CGOA-sponsored tour to Ireland and Wales in Spring, 2000. The focus was on the various lace collections and the history of Irish crochet.
CGOA President Karen Klemp moderated the meeting. Chapter representatives and members gathered to share ideas about chapter activities, and building their chapters.
The Hook Collectors, a special interest group of CGOA, met on Sunday evening. The program portion of the meeting featured presentations on searching for hooks in antique stores and antique malls, and on searching for hooks on Internet auction sites. A special collection of crochet hooks from the private collection of Delma Myers of Alaska was on display in the Juried Exhibit room during the conference.
