Warm Up America! Program is coordinated by the Craft Yarn Council of America and has provided thousands of afghans for the homeless and also helps supply afghans to the American Red Cross, which distributes to people who are homeless due to fire, flood or other natural disaster.
Conference participants were asked to donate either six-inch by six-inch or seven-inch by seven-inch squares, or finished afghans (49" x 63"). Donations of squares and completed afghans were accepted at the Registration table from noon to 5:00 PM, Thursday, August 9, 2001 and during the conference at the CYCA and CGOA booths through 2 PM on Sunday, August 12, 2001.
The Sacramento Crochet Guild will assemble all the individual squares donated at Chain Link 2001 into afghans.
