Gwen Blakley Kinsler was the keynote speaker and
presented a slide show looking back at the first decade of the Crochet
Guild of America.
A record 258 crocheters attended and14 teachers taught 62 classes.
In addition, there were three membership appreciation demos: Hairpin
Lace by Lydia Borin, Thread Crochet by Kathie Earle, Bead Crochet
by Theresa Grandstaff, and the Professional Development Day organized
by CGOA Professional Development Chairperson Darla Fanton.
CGOA members conducted their Annual Business Meeting and elected
John Boggs, Linda Carter, Cher Coburn-Mueller and Jacque Kurman
to the Board of Directors.
The Hook Collectors Special Interest Group offered CGOA's fourth
commemorative crochet hook and held their annual meeting.
Anne Smark of Jawak Inc. sponsored a coffee break; Dynamic Resource
Group (DRG) sponsored the tote bags; and Caron International sponsored
the Fashion Show.
The FiberArts Market featured 35 vendors and 53 booths and was
open for 3 days of shopping, plus a special preview on Thursday
evening.
The Juried Exhibit was on display for 4 days.
The Fashion Show on Saturday evening featuring 45 crocheted garments
and accessories by 25 crocheters.
