Chain Link 1997 Juried Exhibit

Chain Link '97 Chicago: City of Ethnic Celebration, Juried Exhibit was held August 7-10. Chicago Marriott Schaumburg Hotel, Schaumburg, IL

Jurors: Linda Buckner and Nina Bliese selected the winners of the Wearable Art and Universal awards from the many entries, taking into consideration their originality, creativity and innovative construction techniques which incorporate a crocheted element. Linda teaches crochet at Fine Line Studios in St. Charles, Illinois and is a member of the Fine Line Fiber Artists whose entry won two awards at the Chain Link '96 Juried Exhibit. Linda is also the local representative for Mountain Color yarns, Skacel products, and several other related product lines in the Midwest. Nina Bliese is the Chairman of the Board of the Textile Arts Centre (TAC) in Chicago, Illinois. She has served as head of the TAC Gallery Committee and judged many shows for TAC. She is an art educator, member of the Textile Society of the Art Institute of Chicago, and is on the City of Chicago's Art Panel which makes recommendations for visual-arts grants.
