Lily Chin, New York City, NY

Named a "Master Knitter of the 90's" by Vogue Knitting, this NYC native has been involved in some aspect of the fashion industry since age 13. Lily designs regularly for all the major magazines and yarn companies as well as fabric development and knitdowns for Seventh Avenue, including samples for Isaac Mizrahi. She writes the "On Designing" column for Knitter's and the "Designing for the Machine" column for Machine Knit America. Her workshops, lectures, and seminars on hand and machine knitting and crochet are conducted around the country. In early '94, Lily served as international fashion and design consultant to the Indonesian Textile Association in Bali and Malaysian manufacturing concerns in Kuala Lumpur. Kate Coburn, Gilbert, AZ

Crocheting since receiving lessons as a child from her grandmothers, Kate uses science and art degrees as well as experience as a high school teacher to bring a fresh approach to bead crochet. Her jewelry pieces are exceptional and she has recently authored and self-published two booklets, entitled Crocheting with Beads and Tubes. Kate's piece, "Rainbow Necklace," won the People's Choice award at Chain Link '96. Kate is also moderating the Meet the Editors Panel. Crocheting with Beads-Theory (6 hours)

Alice Heim, Homasassa, FL

Alice has taught crochet for more than 30 years. She received Teacher Certification from APNR/TNNA in 1983, as well as several awards of excellence. She was designated a Certified Craft Designer by the Society of Craft Designers, has authored three books and her designs have appeared in all major needlecraft magazines for the past 15 years. Aurelia Ann Hough, Boise, ID

Aurelia is an avid crochet designer who owns a small boutique where her designs of hand-crocheted apparel and accessories are sold for retail and wholesale. She also teaches lessons, does crochet finishing and repairs and successfully participates in area gift shows and juried arts & craft shows. She has crocheted for more than 37 years, and as the years increase, so do her ideas, techniques, projects, and goals, all focused on crochet! Aurelia is a founding member of the We're Hooked! Crochet Guild (the CGOA Idaho chapter affiliate), a member of CGOA, and has taught a variety of crochet classes over the last 20 years. Arnetta Kenney, Pocono Pines, PA

An Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Arnetta has been teaching upper division and seminar classes in knit design, hand knitting and crochet since 1988. Arnetta began crocheting at a very early age inspired by a mother who crocheted afghans for all in the family and a sister who crocheted flower arrangements for hospital patients. While working in the knitwear industry, Arnetta found her knowledge of crochet very useful for finishing, especially slip stitching seams and neckline trims. Rick Mondragon, Albuquerque, NM

Rick has been a crocheter since age 4, when his mother taught him to crochet to save her sanity. He is an accomplished fiber artist and teacher with a business, studio and gallery in Albuquerque. "Flower & Fiber" are his loves and he named his business around them. He likes to approach his designs through the analytical and creative channels as demonstrated through his workshops and classes. Kathleen Power-Johnson, Reston, VA

Kathleen has ventured from handknitting and crochet into FiberArt and Temari buttons, free-form crochet jewelry, and multi-media wearable art. In addition to designing for yarn companies and craft manufacturers, writing and teaching on fiber topics, Kathleen has also taught for TKGA, Stitches, EGA, and Embellishments. Her designs have appeared in McCall's Needlework, Knitters, Crochet Digest, and Bead & Button, and she is a contributor to Fashion Knitting and Knitting Digest. Kathleen's FiberArt buttons are featured in The Button Craft Book. Her company, The Last Yak, produces whimsical lim ited edition fiber art. Suzann Thompson, UNITED KINGDOM

You'll have an idea how long Suzann has been crocheting when you learn that her first big crochet project was a poncho. Since then, she has crocheted, knitted, and crafted her way into a career as a teacher, demonstrator, and designer of projects for many magazines. A Texan by birth, Suzann now lives in Sheffield, England with her husband and daughter. Carol (Norton) Ventura, Cookeville, TN

Carol holds a Ph.D. in Art from the University of Georgia. She is currently the Art Historian at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville. A nationally-exhibiting artist, teacher, and writer, she authored Tapestry Crochet in 1981, as well as more than 20 articles. Carol incorporates her interest in pottery, basketry, photography, and computer graphics into her award-winning pieces. Carol presented the Post Conference Workshop on Tapestry Crochet at Chain Link '95. Flat Tapestry Crochet (6 hours), Tapestry Crochet Basket (6 hours)

Larisa Walk, Winona, MN

 Enlarge Photo  Hooked on crochet since her aunt taught her 33 years ago, Larisa enjoys exploring the structure of garment shaping and creating "seamless" works with an emphasis on quality craftwomanship. Her pieces are of her own design, with inspiration from ethnic textiles. She also spins, dyes (natural and chemical), weaves, and gardens. Tunisian in the Round (3 hours)
