At Chain Link in Minneapolis in July 2011, CGOA held the inaugural CGOA Crochet Hall of Fame event at the Textile Center of Minneapolis. The grand event celebrated the induction of Jean Leinhauser, the first Hall-of-Famer, into this auspicious soon-to-be cadre of crocheters.
Unfortunately, soon after Jean had been told she was to be honored, she lost her battle against illness. The event still celebrated Jean's life with her dear friends Bobbie Matela, Susan Sullivan and Rita Weiss sharing stories, history and photos of their associations with Jean and her prominence in the world of crochet.
The CGOA Board of Directors has voted to rename the recognition to the Jean Leinhauser CGOA Crochet Hall of Fame. Jean's memory will be forever linked with this honor.

CGOA Hall of Fame Inspirations
The following names were suggested for CGOA Hall of Fame candidacy. The CGOA Hall of Fame committee felt it was important for members to have access to information about crocheters and crochet supporters who would provide inspiration to them.
The above members were nominated for the award in 2014 and may be nominated again in 2015. Voting for the 2015 award will begin in May. We thank everyone for their nominations and as you can see by the names above, this is truly a talented organization!
