Martingale has extended the Crocheted Socks contest for a due date of Feb. 28, 2004.
Crocheters are challenged to use the 16 patterns in the book as a jumping-off point for creating their own sock designs.

To celebrate the release of Crocheted Socks! by Janet Rehfeldt and Mary Jane Wood, Martingale & Company® is sponsoring a special contest for crocheters. Sock designs are to be based on or inspired by patterns in the book Crocheted Socks! ($18.95, ISBN 1-56477-494-5). Martingale will award the following prizes:
- 1st Prize: $300 Martingale gift certificate plus gift basket
- 2nd Prize: $200 Martingale gift certificate plus gift basket
- 3rd Prize: $100 Martingale gift certificate plus gift basket
- Most Outrageous Sock: $100 Martingale gift certificate plus gift basket
Winners' gift baskets are provided by leading yarn and crochet notions suppliers, including Brown Sheep Company, Inc.; Crystal Palace; Fibertrends; Mountain Colors Yarn; Skacel; Sock It to Me; and Unicorn Books & Crafts.
