Description: "Increasing and Decreasing Tote" taught by Ellen Gormley teaches correspondent students how to increase and decrease within a project while creating a tulip-shaped tote bag.
Goals: Complete a flat circle for the tote base. Learn to
increase and decrease to create pleasing shapes. Work in front or back loops
as indicated. Use different stitches while maintaining proper stitch counts.
Yarn and Hook Used: Size 6 Super Bulky yarn and size J crochet
hook.
Stitches Student Must Know: chain, single crochet, double crochet,
half double crochet, slip knot, slip stitch
Skills Required: read written crochet instructions
Length of Class: 3 to 4 hours
Time to complete: approx. 3 months
Finished Size: 9” x 9” completed tote bag.
Materials Provided: None.
Materials Student Provides: J crochet hook, 9 ozs total of
size 6 super bulky craft yarn. Yanrn needle.
