Saturday, April 12th breakfast was brought to the room at 5:30 and we put our luggage out. Luggage was picked up at 6:00 and we were downstairs by 6:15 waiting for the bus. Where was the bus? It finally came but it sure looked small for the entire group of us AND the luggage. However, we were on the way by 6:30 and at the airport by 7:00. The luggage all did fit but this was not the spacious bus we had been touring in all week.
We were finally on the way to gate 1C by 7:45. Through the inspectors station was fast and easy. In Dublin the New York people left right away. We had to wait until 2:45. They all gave us a hug and off they went to the B Concourse. We followed at a leisurely pace stopping in a few shops along the way. We went through the US Customs and Immigration station, which prohibited us from returning to the main terminal. By that time we had “shopped” all we wanted.
By 3:30 we were well on our way high above the clouds, the bright sun behind us and the mountains of white fluffy clouds mounded below. We arrived right about 5:00 in Chicago. I bid all goodbyes as they heade d out to their respective flights. Would I go again? I would in a minute! What a great trip it was! What great friends I made! And what a wonderful country Ireland is! Scotland too, but I really loved Ireland. Updated: ©2004 Crochet Guild of America. Article and Photographs: Barbara Pretzsch Webweaver: Pam Oddi
