Contract Crocheter/Pattern Tester Information

Updated:

Designers and publishers frequently ask CGOA if we can assist in locating pattern testers. Crocheters frequently ask if we know of designers looking for pattern testers. In order to bring these two groups together we maintain a Contract Crocheter/Pattern Tester Listing in the Members Only area of the website.

The role of Contract Crocheter is an important one. Designers and publishers strive to achieve patterns that are 100% accurate. The Contract Crocheter not only has the responsibility of making the actual item that will be used for photography but also verifies that the pattern is free from errors. Contract Crocheters should have excellent crochet and pattern reading skills. They must be able to meet deadlines as well as follow the specific crochet guidelines provided by each client. Designers and publishers will usually require swatches demonstrating your crochet ability prior to a project assignment. The success of the designer/contract crocheter relationship depends on ongoing communication.

If you want to hire a Contract Crocheter, you must be a member of CGOA in order to access the Listing in the Members Only area.

In order to be included in the Contract Crocheter/Pattern Tester Listing you must be a member of CGOA and must complete the Contract Crocheter Information Form.
