Updated:
The Mentoring Program was established by the Professional Development Committee as a method of nurturing aspiring crochet professionals.
Many of our Professional Members volunteer their time to serve as mentors to our Associate Professionals. Professional Members who wish to serve as mentors may do so by contacting ProfDev@crochet.org
Associate Professionals may request a mentor to help guide them. Every attempt is made to match Associates with a mentor in their chosen career category.
A mentor is there to help the Associate Professional identify goals and take positive steps toward achieving them. A mentor will help you learn the ropes and will often have the answers to questions or will be able to direct you to sources of information. Your mentor will also help you recognize when you have achieved the level of experience that qualifies you for Professional Membership. At that time you may request a review of your credentials by contacting ProfDev@crochet.org
Informal mentoring also occurs in the Professional Member e-mail discussion list where members exchange information on a wide range of business topics and assist each other in expanding their careers.
